We the undersigned do solemnly & severally swear that we will appraise all the property exhibitted to us belonging to the succession of the late John Walker of said parish deceased, to the best of our knowledge & judgement, so help us God ------------

This day the sixteenth of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty, being thereto requested, I George King, Parish Judge in and for the aforesaid parish and ex-officio Notary Public have proceeded to the last residence of the late John Walker situated in said parish distant about thirty miles from the Court House in order to make an estimative inventory of the property belonging to the succession of said deceased, and to that effect have appointed [Mrss_] John H. Overton and Joseph Tate as appraisers, who being first duly sworn we have inventoried and appraised as follows, to wit.

First - A negro woman named Winny aged about thirty five years with her four children, to wit, Lavinia a girl aged about nine years, Daniel a boy aged about seven years, George a boy aged about two years and Tina a girl age ten months old appraised about fifteen hundred dollars.$1500.00

 

2nd - A negro girl named Manda aged about twelve years appraised at five hundred dollars500.00

 

3rd - A negro man named Dick aged about thirty years appraised at seven hundred & fifty dollars.750.00
