I John Walker -------------- of the State of Louisiana and the Parish of St. Landry, do solemnly swear that I will well and faithfully perform the duties and functions incumbent on me as administrator of the succession of the late Jeremiah Walker of said Parish of St. Landry deceased ---------- to the best of my judgement and abilities according to Law, so help me God.
 
Sworn and subscribed to at Opelousas
This 1st day of September 1835

To all whom it may concern, Be it known, that I George King Parish Judge and ex-officio Judge of the Court of Probates, in and for the aforesaid Parish, have this day the first of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty five by virtue of the powers in me vested by [by] law, appointed and do hereby appoint John Walker of said Parish Administrator of the succession of the late Jeremiah Walker of said Parish decsd. _____________
Hereby vesting him the said John Walker as such Administrator with all the powers and authority contemplated by the Laws of this State, in such case made and provided – the previous requisites of the Law having been complied with.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto signed and affixed the seal of
my office at Opelousas, the day and year above written.
