Bryant's Woodwork
I love working with wood. I get great satisfaction from creating different projects and giving them to my grandchildren. I hope I can continue to create new projects for many years.
I learned many things from my daddy, Van. He was a master carpenter and a very creative woodworker. He tried to teach me and my brothers some of the things he could do, but youthfulness prevailed and I really didn't listen very well until after I left the Marines and returned home. He helped me build my first work shop, a 12' x 14' building in my back yard. Dad came by every day and gave me pointers as well as tell me what I was doing wrong. I really didn't start doing projects until I moved to Wisconsin and set up a shop in my basement. I also bought a ShopSmith Mark V combination saw/tools.
My neighbor Paul was a master craftsman as well. He was Greek and owned a business for building large wooden tanning drums for the tanning industry. He had a wood craft shop set up in his building and we went almost every weekend to build projects and learn from Paul. It wass a valuable experience with excellent resources, such as exotic lumber not found in the local lumber stores.
I don't do any woodwork anymore, but I'm proud of what I did in earlier years. You can view the various projects at the following links for the work.
Enjoy!
