Emily Ophelia Walker was the oldest child of Thomas Jefferson Walker and Frances (Whittington) Walker. She appears to have been instrumental in running the home place for many years. She was not married at this time at age 28. The stationary has a U. S. Congress watermark showing the Congressional Building and the word CONGRESS above the building.
