Cherubs
If the world could only see
The tiny cherubs that cling to me
All who see would have to say
That the cherubs will rule the day.
As spring drives the winter to flee
The cherubs again will appear to me
Each as lovely as spring's display
As God's own blessing for us today.
Summer gives us time to see,
The little cherubs running free.
Unaware of the days to come,
While they play out in the sun.
As autumn wanes upon the lea
And summer soon begins to flee,
Before the winter comes this way,
The cherubs have brightened our day.
I await the future when they are free
To waltze about so all can see,
The priceless jewels that came to me,
The cherubs I held upon my knee.
